PURPOSE: To improve oil resistance of ultramacromolecule PE moldings by crosslinking after drawing the ultramacromolecule PE molding by more than a certain draw ratio.
CONSTITUTION: After drawing the moldings such as sheet, film, tube, etc. provided from ultramacromolecule PE moldings of which the molecular weight is over 1 million by viscometric measurement and over 3 million by light scattering method, so that at least the draw ratio is over 1.1 preferably 1.24W4 at temperature of 60W 180°C or electron beam of 5W20Mrad is irradiated to attain crosslinking of gelling ratio more than 50% or preferably 55W80%. Thus there will be no change in dimensions when submerged in hot oil for a long time, enabling usage as dielectric sheet for electrolytic capacitor etc.
