Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide a compsn. which is useful for use in products such as aromatics and mothproofing agents and makes it possible to judge whether the effective term of the products runs out or not by observing change in the color tone of the compsn. because the color tone changes by the evaporation of a basic material in said compsn. with time, consisting of a pH indicator and the basic material whose evaporation rate is adjusted.
CONSTITUTION: A basic material (e.g. methylamine or triethylamine) alone or a mixt. thereof or together with an evaporation rate-adjusting agent (e.g. paraffin wax) is used to obtain the basic material whose evaporation rate is adjusted so as to meet the requirement according to the effective term of the desired product. The adjusted basic material is combined with a pH indicator. The packaging material of the product is impregnated or coated with the resulting compsn. The product per se may be impregnated or coated directly with the compsn. Alternatively, a printing ink is blended with the compsn. The blend can be applied to the product, e.g., by a printing method to make it possible to judge the effective term of the product.
USE: Deodorizer, insecticide, repellent and horticultural supplies.
