Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a hot-melt adhesive which has excellent anticorrosive ability and retains adhesive power for a long period of time under a corrosive environment even though the adhesive is applied to a steel surface which is not previously subjected to a rust-inhibiting treatment, by adding aluminum tripolyphosphate to a base resin for an adhesive for iron and steel.
CONSTITUTION: 5W30pts.wt. Aluminum tripolyphosphate (B) is added to 100pts. wt. base resin (A) such as a polyolefin resin, a polyamide resin or a polyester resin to obtain the title adhesive. The product is used as an adhesive, e.g. when a steel band wound around wire and cable is covered with a PVC sheath, or when a steel pipe is covered with a PE anticorrosive layer.
