Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve flexibility of a tube, by a method wherein a bellows type or a spiral type synthetic resin made flexible tube compressed to a contractive limit in the axial direction is stretched at the normal temperature after it is heat-treated, and a tensile force is released.
CONSTITUTION: A bellows type or a spiral type synthetic resin made flexible tube molded by a conventional blow-molding method is stretched in the axial direction to a contractive limit, and with this the tube is heat-treated. The tube so treated is stretched at room temperature, and is then released. For example, the synthetic resin made bellows type tube with a length of 294mm obtained by a blow-molding method is compressed in the axial direction of the tube to the contractive limit, and with this tube is immersed in hot water having 100°C. The tube is then restored to room temperature, and is stretched to about its former length. The resultant tube is then released from a tensile force to obtain a flexible tube, with a length of 175mm being excellent in the flexibility.
