Abstract
PURPOSE:To dilute exhaust gas easily to measure the exhausted fine particle quantity even if the temperature of the exhaust gas is high and the exhausted quantity is great deal, by introducing a part of the exhausted gas to a dilution tunnel to measure the ratio of the concentration as for before dilution and after dilution in respect to specific components in the exhaust gas. CONSTITUTION:Exhaust pipe 22 of sample diesel engine 21 to which air flow rate measuring device 23 is installed, is branched to exhaust gas introducing pipe 3 and exhaust gas abandoning pipe 25, and introducing pipe 3 is opened to dilution tunnel 4, and abandoning pipe 25 is connected to abandoning duct 26. Distributing valve 24 is installed in this branching part and controls flow paths. Sampling pipe 27 is opened to exhaust pipe 22, and sampling pipe 28 is opened to dilution tunnel 4, and the carbon dioxide concentration ratio between them is detected by carbon dioxide concentration analyzer 29. Thus, the dilution ratio is detected, and the overall exhausted fine particle quantity is calculated on a basis of the overall flow rate in dilution tunnel 4, the flow rate of sampling gas leading-out pipe 11, and the fine particle quantity gathered by filter 14.
