Abstract

PURPOSE: To make possible to measure the position and direction of a moving object by detecting the directions of three slit light sources on the traveling plane of the moving object with a simple measuring device on the moving object.
CONSTITUTION: A moving object 1 which runs in a two dimensional space is constructed as a truck which mounts, for example, a machine and runs automatically. On this moving object 1, a television camera 2 which detects slit light soruces and a measuring device with a detecting circuit and a rotation angle detecting circuit for the slit light sources are mounted, and by measuring angles between the slit light sources A, B and C seen from the moving object 1 and the relations of angles between the slit light sources and a standard line l on the moving object, the position and direction of the moving object 1 in the two dimensional spaces are measured.
