Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent bigger floating matters from getting into a suction duct, by mounting to a suction opening grid rods at intervals.
CONSTITUTION: Water flow in the rear direction increases as it approaches a rear opening edge 32 of a suction opening 7. Therefore, floating matters got caught by the grid rods are gathered to the rear opening edge 32 of the suction opening 7. Because, however, a protruded part 30 is formed to each lower edge of the grid rods 28 which protrude lower than the rear opening edge 32, the floating matters caught by the grid rods 28 are pushed by the flow in the rear direction and come off from the rods 28. Therefore the floating matters do not accumulate around the grid rods 28, and the suction opening 7 is seldom covered with the floating matters, resulting in better suction performance and lesser resistance against driving. Furthermore, less labor is required to remove the bigger floating matters.
