Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the resistance of the radial tyre for a truck against partial frictional consumption by making a tread central part of a specified composition mainly composed of SBR rubber having a specified molecular weight and a shoulder part of a specified composition mainly composed of a natural rubber, and adding thereto a predetermined amount of liquid polymer having a specified molecular weight.
CONSTITUTION: The center tread part 2' is made of a styrene-butadiene copolymer rubber having a viscosity-average molecular weight of more than 2×105, or a blend rubber including less than 70pts.wt. of natural rubber polyisobutylene rubber, and polybutadiene rubber. The shoulder part 2" is made of a blend rubber of natural rubber, polyisoplene rubber, and polybutadiene rubber including less than 50pts.wt. of the above-mentioned styrene-butadiene copolymer rubber. The center tread part 2' is further added with 5W60pts.wt. of liquid polymer of the same system having a viscosity-average molecular weight of 2×103W1.5×105, whereas the should part 2" is added with 0W30pts.wt. of this liquid polymer. Thus, these two parts 2' and 2" have a specified relationship in the hardness Hd1 and Hd2. By this, the resistance of the tyre against the partial frictional consumption can be much improved.
