PURPOSE:To enhance the recording density and reduce the fluctuation of time axis such as the wow and flutter, the jitter and the like, by installing a rotor made of the soft magnetic substance between an auxiliary magnetic pole and a magnetic recording medium. CONSTITUTION:The rotor 6 is made of the soft magnetic substance like the auxiliary magnetic pole 2 and turns round the shaft 7. The pole 2 is unified with the main magnetic pole 1 or provided with a fixed positioning relation to the pole 1 although they are separated from each other. Then the rotor 6 turns with a slight distance secured to the pole 2. If the shaft 7 is connected to the driving source of a motor or the like directly or indirectly via a belt or the like, the rotor is turned into a capstan that is driven by a magnetic medium 4. At the same time, the medium 4 can be allowed to press-contact between the pinch rollers 8 and 9. In such constitution, the space between the both magnetic poles that hold the magnetic medium between can be minimized to realize a high-density recording. Furthermore the friction caused between the medium and the rotor means a rolling friction to reduce the fluctuation of time axis such as the wow and flutter, the jitter and the like.
