Abstract
PURPOSE:To withstand the hooping force caused by a large electromagnetic force by compressing main separating members made of thermosetting synthetic resin in half-cured state to the outer periphery of a coil, and heating and curing them. CONSTITUTION:The main separating members 7 made of thermosetting resin in half-cured state are compressed between a coil 1, constituting a superconductor and a reinforcing plate which can be readily bent and a thick package 2 which can withstand a hooping force. In this case, auxiliary separating members 8 made of metal or insulating material are used together. Since the main separating members 7 are in a half-cured state, they conform with the convex and concave portions of the coil. The package 2 is covered with a lid 2a, and the main separating members 7 are heated and cured. In this constitution, a powerful hooping force which acts on the coil can be securely and uniformly applied to the package.
