Abstract

PURPOSE: To detect the unevenness of tire accurately by a method wherein a wave form signal corresponding to ruggedness displacement of a tire side is divided into a plurality of arithmetic sections and computed to obtain the maximum amplitude value for each section and then the maximum value among those amplitude values is selected.
CONSTITUTION: A signal corresponding to ruggedness displacement of a tire side is supplied to an A/D converter 10 from a displacement meter 5. In the A/D converter 10, waveform amplitude value is sampled and this value is supplied to an arithmetic device 11. In the arithmetic device 11, the maximum amplitude value is obtained for each unit arithmetic section which is previously determined. Maximum amplitude values in each section are supplied to a comparator 14 and the maximum value among those maximum amplitude values for respective arithmetic sections is stored in a memory 15. This value is memorized in a register 16 as unevenness value and then displayed on a display 17.
