Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain milk for lactation of pig having functions of the immune antibody of breast milk substitute of pig and improved shelf stability, being handled readily, by subjecting the colostrum of cows or its blend with a specific nutrient to spray drying.
CONSTITUTION: The colostrum of cows within 5 days after delivery or preferably within 2W3 days or its blend preferably with a vitamin and/or mineral is subjected to spray drying so that it is powdered. The amount of vitamin and/or mineral used is preferably 0.01W0.5wt% based on solid content of the colostrum of cows. For example, vitamin A, B, E, K3, etc. are used as the vitamin, and copper, iron, zinc, etc. are used as the mineral. Milk for lactation of pig thus obtained by spray drying is dissolved in water or warm water and diluted to a concetration 10W30wt% to feed it baby pigs.
