Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the processing speed and reduce the number of steps of the program, by dividing the test execution cycle into the first half and the latter half and by executing the processing for branching to each branch destination in the first half and by executing a part of the processing after branching in the latter half. CONSTITUTION:The test execution cycle is divided into the first half and the latter half. In the first half, the processing (indicated by a specific field in micro steps) required for branching to each branch destination is executed. In the latter half, processing results, which concern a specific branch destination determined by the test result, out of processing results obtained in the first half are selected and are made effective. Consequently, these effective processing results are used to execute immediately the micro instruction in the branch destination in the next execution cycle. That is, a part of the processing after branching is executed in parallel with the test in the test cycle.
