Abstract
PURPOSE: To prepare an antibiotic 6-amino-5-hydroxy-1,3-cyclohexadiene-1-carbaldehyde, by cultivating a novel microorganism belonging to the genus Streptomyces.
CONSTITUTION: A novel microorganism collected form the soil in Uji city in Kyoto Prefecture, Streptomyces sp. G-706 strain, (FERM-P No.5359) is inoculated into preferably a culture medium containing a metallic chelating agent, particularly ethyelnediaminetetraacetic acid, and cultivated under aerobic conditions, and an antibiotic 6-amino-5-hydroxy-1,3-cyclohexadiene-1-carbaldehyde is collected from the resultant culture.
