Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:A pyrano [2,3-b] indolidin-2-one derivative of formula I (R is H, lower alkyl, or phenyl; R1 is H or lower alkyl; R2 is lower alkyl).
EXAMPLE: 3-Ethoxycarbonyl-6-methyl-2H-pyrano(2,3-b)indolidin-2-one.
USE: Hyprotensor, antiallergic agent, antiulcer agent, and antiphlogistic agent.
PROCESS: The titled compound of formula I can be prepared by reacting a compound of formula II (X is halogen) with a compound of formula III, usually in an inert solvent, in the presence of a basic substance (e.g. triethylamine, pyridine, etc.), pref. at room temp.W150°C. The lower alkyl in the formula I is 1W6C alkyl such as methyl, ethyl, butyl, etc.
