Abstract
PURPOSE:To enhance durability of a carrier, by adding an alkyl ester type surfactant to a resin coating layer. CONSTITUTION:An alkyl ester type surfactant represented by the formula in which R is 8-18C alkyl and (n) is an integer, is dispersed into a solvent together with a coating resin, iron powder surfaces are coated with this solution by the spray drying of fluidized bed method, and dried to obtain a carrier. When carbon black is used as a resistance controller, carbon black is inferior in wetting property against the coating resin, so durability is low as compared to the case of using the alkyl ester type surfactant.
