Abstract

PURPOSE:To make a lens system compact and to correct various aberrations, by varying the magnitude by varying the air interval between the negative front group and positive rear group. CONSTITUTION:Front group I consists of the 1st group of a convex lens, the 2nd group of a concave meniscus lens (having a concave surface at the image side), the 3rd group, and the 4th group of a convex lens (having a convex surface at the object side). Then, rear group II (having focal lendth fII) consists of the 5th group of a convex lens, the 6th group of a meniscus lens consisting of cemented convex and concave lenses (the focal length is f6; refractive indexes of the convex and concave lenses are n6 and n7; and the radius of curvature of the convex lens is r12), the 7th group of a concave meniscus lens (having a concave surface of radius of curvature r15 at the image side), and the 8th group of a convex lens, and equations 1-4 should be satisfied. Thus, the zoom lens of about 1.7 zoom ratio and about 75 deg. face angle at the wide end having excellent aberrations can be obtained.
