Abstract
PURPOSE: A resin emulsion for processing a fibrous resin with suitable bodying property, excellent sofetening effect for a fiber, etc., which comprises a copolymer of a free carboxyl gp.-contg. unsaturated monomer with other monomer and a specified surfactant.
CONSTITUTION: 2W80wt%, based on the total monomer, free caboxyl gp.-contg. unsaturated monomer (e.g., acylic acid) is emulsion-polymerized with other monomer, to obtain a copolymer emulsion. Then the purpose resin emulsion is obtd. by compounding 2W50wt%, based on the solid in the copolymer emulsion obtd., cpd. of the formula (wherein X is a mono- or polyhydric alcohol, amine, saturated fatty acid or phenol; Y is H, alkyl, saturated acyl or benzoyl; l, m and n are integer, and l/l+m=0.05W0.85; n is 1W8), with the copolymer emulsion.
