Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:Polypyridyl ruthenium high-molecular complexes of formula I (wherein R1 is polypyridyl ; R2 is a polypyridyl compd. which may be the same as R1H ; m,p are each 1,2;X is an anion ; n is 0W20).
USE: Insolubilized catalyst and film catalyst for photoreaction.
PREPARATION: A polymer having styrene unit of formula II is partially substituted with a halogen. Then the halogen substituent in the polymer is substituted with Li. Then the Li substituent in the polymer is substituted with a polypyridyl group to obtain a polymer of formula III contg. polypyridyl group as part of the polymer chain. The polymer is reacted with a mono- or bis(polypyridyl) ruthenium complex.
