Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance the effective printing speed and operating effectiveness of a printer by arranging a cutting mechanism, folding mechanism and stacking table for printed sheets by this printer and controlling the cutting and folding functions in any way using signals.
CONSTITUTION: There are two methods for after-treatment of sheets printed by this printer; one cutting for every job and the other cutting of every sheet. In the case of cutting after a job high-speed rollers 9, 9' are separated and a swing fin 10 is swung. A sheet 1 is sent along a sheet receiver 12 and a guide 13 to the swing fin 10 through a trimmer 5, infeed rollers 11, 11'. The sheet is then folded and placed on a stacking table 7, where sheets are stored neatly with their longer edges directed horizontally as they are so directed just before by an impeller 14. Grouping of sheets by every job at the time of stacking can be made by swinging the stacking table 7 to and fro.
