PURPOSE:To eliminate the color pseudo signal produced by the defect of white spot of the solid state pickup element, by giving a waveform shaping to the output signal of a detecting means that detects the defect of the picture element of the solid state pickup element and then giving a control to the chrominance signal with the above- mentioned output signal. CONSTITUTION:A combination 10 of a color filter and a solid state pickup element is provided along with the band pass filter 13 having the central frequency of 1/2 horizontal clock frequency plus a trap circuit consisting of the resistance 30, coil 31 and capacitor 32 each. The output signal of pickup plate is supplied to the trap circuit, and thus the horizontal clock frequency component is eliminated to detect the signal of the white spot defect. Then the signal received a waveform shaping through the monostable multivibrator 44 is supplied to the erasing circuits 45-47 each via the transistor protecting resistance 48.
