CONSTITUTION:When a playback signal from an obliquely joined tape is fed to a synchronizing pattern detection circuit 172, an editing point detection circuit 173 detects the editing part with the shift between the synchronizing pattern of up and down track groups. The time absorbing circuit 174 given with this detection signal absorbs the shift in the synchronizing pattern output from the synchronizing pattern detection circuit 172 and feeds the synchronous pattern after being arranged to the signal processing circuit 175 having the fade-in/fade-out circuit. The interpolation correction of missing data is made and the signals are smoothly connected. Thus, oblique edition is made.
