Abstract

PURPOSE:To measure automatically the whole of electric characteristics including azimuth characteristics by providing three magnetic head mounts which enable adjustments of the position and angle of an equipped magnetic head and by finely varying the azimuth angle under automatic computer control. CONSTITUTION:For various inspection, magnetic head 2b to be inspected is set on magnetic head mount 1b and recording magnetic head 2a and reproducing magnetic head 2c whose characteristics are previously tested are set as standard ones on magnetic head mounts 1a and 1c. As microcomputer 30 is assigned for reproduction inspection, current synthesizing circuit 34 is connected to magnetic head 2a via head switch 28 and in this state, standard recording on magnetic tape 24 is carried out. Next, reproduction is done by magnetic head 2b to be inspected and standard reproducing head 2c, and measurement data are fetched in and processed by computer 30. Thus, the characteristics of head 2b to magnetic head 2c are judged.
