Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the scattering of the residual toner at the maintaining and the contact damages between a cleaning blade and a photoreceptor by spacing the cleaning blade from the photorceptor more than at the noncleaning by a spacing cam or the like. CONSTITUTION:At the noncopying, a support 28 is moved by a push roller 36 engaging with the concave prt of ta cam plate 46 together with a bracket 42 energized by a spring 43 and a cleaning blad 23 provided to the support 28 is held spacd from a photoreceptor 20. When a cam plate 46 rotates at the start of copying, the bracket 42 is moved by the roller 36, causing the blade 23 to contact the photoreceptor 20, thus the excess toner is recovered by a fur brush 27 etc. without sticking to the blade 23. If a spacing cam 64 is turned at the maintaining, the bracket 42 oscillates and causes the blade 23 being held spaced from the photoreceptor 20 in a noncopying state to space further, thus obviating the occurrence of any damages owing to the contactual touching between the blade 23 and the photoreceptor 20 and obviating the toner scattering owing to the blade having been recovered of the stuck toner at the cleaning.
