Abstract

PURPOSE: To use a narrow boring hole to make it possible to sample surely water in a prescribed depth, by causing a water sampler whose gas pressure is matched to the prescribed wated depth, to fall up to the prescribed depth and by applying pressure to water sampler by pressure reduction.
CONSTITUTION: Water sampler 2 consists of pressure vessel 8 whose bottom is a reverse cone form and can be connected to the external by through-hole 9 and water stop valve 10 in the bottom. For water sampling, valves 5 and 13 of gas pressure adjusting unit 1 are first closed, and valve 4 is opened, and valve 4 is closed after pressure in water sampler 2 is set to the water head pressure in a prescribed depth. Next, after water sampler 2 is caused to fall up to the prescribed depth by support rope 15, valve 5 is opened a little to reduce pressure, and water is filled up in vessel 8. Next, valve 5 is closed, and valve 4 is opened to apply pressure, and valve 13 is opened to send water onto the ground. By repeating this operation, water in the prescribed depth can be sampled without desturbance of the water layer.
