Abstract

PURPOSE: To measure gear sound accurately to prevent surely discordant sound of a completed car from being generated, by causing two gears to gear with each other to rotate them and by comparing the vibration value and the noise value, which are measured by a vibration detector and a sound collector, with values for reference gears.
CONSTITUTION: Gears A and B are set to shafts 4 and 5, which are supported in measuring room 2 rotatably, and are rotated. Vibration and noise detected pickup 11 and mike 12 are amplified by vibrometer 14 and noise meter 22, and their signals are input to control circuit 27 through prescribed circuits, and it is displayed on the display part whether gear sound is good or not. Reference level values for vibration and noise are set to deciding circuits 16 and 24 through variable resistances 20, 21 and 25 previously; and if detection signals are within these level values, goodness is decided. If goodness is not decided, respective detection signals are displayed by selector switch 26 to take required measures such as gear exchange. As a result, correct measurement is possible.
