If the source AC recovers, the batteries B1 and B2 are charged through a commercial-power- source terminal, a braker MCB, a trans TR, a thyristor S and a braker MCB2, in that order. The discharged capacity of the storage battery B1 on the load Li side, from which electric power is supplied, is mormally larger than that of the storage battery B2. These batteries B1 and B2 are connected in seires before they are charged. At this point, the charged voltages of the batteries B1 and B2 are detected by means of voltage detectors VRY1 and VRY2. If the detected voltages reach a given value, the control of the thyristor S is switched from capacity recovering to small-current charging, such as tricle charge, by means of a charge-controll device CK.
