Abstract
PURPOSE: To make possible the effective heat insulation at the cutting of a high- temperature ingot with simple constitution by encircling the circumference of the high-temperature ingot and providing cut-off parts to the above-mentioned cover along the moving course of the cutting torch, at the time of cutting the high-temperature ingot on conveying rollers.
CONSTITUTION: At the time of cutting in its width direction a high-temperature ingot 1 being conveyed on conveying rollers 60 by a gas or laser cutting device 7, the periphery of the above-mentioned ingot 1 is encircled by an upper heat-insulating cover 81 and a lower heat-insulating cover 82; and cut-off part 9 are provided along the moving course of a cutting torch 71. Namely, the cutting torch 71 moves transversely intersecting orthogonally with the transfer axial line X with respect to the ingot 1 under transfer because the cutting device 7 travels at the same speed as the moving speed of the ingot 1, but it moves transversely with an angle (a) to the aforementioned axial line X with respect to the fixed upper cover 81; therefore, the cut-off parts are disposed in such a manner as to form a moving course Y along its course, shown by two dots chain lines and, provided with a suitable width W.
