Abstract

PURPOSE: To curable composition having excellent electrical properties, which is in a liquid state and is easy to handle, prepared by allowing bisphenol A oxyethyldiacrylate to act upon an isocyanic acid compound.
CONSTITUTION: Bisphenol A oxyethyldiacrylate is prepared by reacting a bisphenol A with an ethylene oxide and further reacting the reaction product with acrylic acid. The resulting bisphenol A oxyethyldiacrylate is molten by heating to 70W90°C and then, an isocyanic acid compound is added to the melt and reacted with it. This reaction produces a product which remains in a liquid state even at normal temperature. To impart photocurability a photopolymerization initiator is added to the product, and to impart heat curability a heat polymerization initiator is added. In case of curing with electron beams, addition of a polymerization initiator is not required. A polymerizable polyfunctional monomer can be added to control curability and viscosity and to optimize curing properties.
