Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent leakage of oil and intrusion of rain water into a gear apparatus, by feeding pressurized air to a part where labyrinth seal is provided.
CONSTITUTION: A bore 11a is formed axially in a gear shaft 11 and concentrically with the gear shaft 11 and it is extended from the top of the shaft 11 to the part where a labyrinth seal 8 is provided. Further, a plurality of radial passages 11b communicated to the labyrinth seal 8 are formed in the gear shaft 11. When a motor 9 is set into rotation, external air is introduced from an inlet port 16 and discharged to the outside from an outlet port 17 by means of a fan 15. Here, a part of the external air thus introduced into the apparatus is carried into an air duct 19, and passing through bores 18a, 11a formed respectively in a rotor shaft 18 and the gear shaft 11, pressurized air is supplied from the passages 11b to the part of labyrinth seal 8.
