Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the noise and improve the durability of a toothed belt by forming spaces in respective teeth of a toothed pulley for affording elasticity to respective teeth to make it possible to absorb impact energies generated at the time of engaging the toothed belt with the toothed pulley.
CONSTITUTION: The toothed pulley 1 has teeth 2 projecting on the outer periphery at a predetermined interval. Spaces 5 are formed within the teeth 2 so that outer walls having a suitable thickness are formed therein. Each of the spaces thus formed is penetrated in the width direction of each of the teeth. At the upper part of each of the teeth 2, shoulders 6 are formed at the front and rear part thereof, and an upper surface part 7 slightly raised between both shoulders 6. Accordingly, elasticity is afforded to the teeth 2, and the upper surface portion 7 raised at the time of engagement with the toothed belt 4 is pressed against the tooth bottom of the toothed belt to increase the elasticity of the teeth 2. Accordingly, it is possible to reduce the noise at the time of engagement of the toothed pulley 1 with the toothed belt 4, and to improve the durability of the toothed pulley 1.
