Abstract

PURPOSE: To effectively perform the lubrication of rollers by magnetizing the rollers and causing a magnetic fluid mainly consisting of lubricating oil to be held at the contact part of the rollers, on a system for performing the transmission of power by tringing two, large and small, rollers into contact with each other.
CONSTITUTION: On one hand, two, large and small, rollers 1 and 1 are fixedly mounted on a driving shaft 2 rotatably supported by a case 3. On another hand, similarly as described above, two, large and small, rollers 5 and 5 are fixedly mounted on a driven shaft 6 supported rotatably on the case 3. Both rollers 1 and 5 are made contact with each other. In the shafts 2 and 6, small and large electromagnetic coils 8 and 9 are fitted between small rollers 1 and 1 and large rollers 5 and 5, and fixed to the case 3 in a state of noncontacting with the shafts 2 and 6. Upon the operation, a current is flowed to electromagnetic coils 8 and 9, respectively, and the rollers 1 and 5 are magnetized as shown in the drawings. When a suitable quantity of the magnetic fluid 10 is poured in the contact portion of the rollers 1 and 5 in this state, the magnetic fluid 10 is held in the vicinity of the roller contact portion of the rollers by a strong magnetic field between the rollers 1 and 5.
