Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the titled adhesive which is free of occurrence of damage to adherend due to differences in expansion coefficient, by adding a low specific gravity silicate derivative to a thermosetting resin-based adhesive.
CONSTITUTION: Approx. 95wt% thermosetting resin-based adhesive, e.g., of urethane resin, epoxy resin, etc., is mixed with approx. 5wt% hollow silicate derivative of a smaller apparent specific gravity than that of said adheisve, e.g., glass beads of an apparent specific gravity of approx. 0.2g/cm2, to obtain the titled adhesive. For example, the thermal expansion coefficient of urethane resin, which is as high as approx. 5 times that of enameled steel plate, can be approximately doubled by adding a hollow silicate derivative to the urethane resin-based adhesive.
