PURPOSE:To shorten the time of copying by running an original setting table at a higher speed than an exposure speed when exposure is not in process, by using the power of a motor rotating in one direction via a prescribed power transmission mechanism and clutch. CONSTITUTION:Chain 42 is extended among motor 35 and sprocket wheels 40 and 41, and wheels 44 and 46 are provided with chain 32, which is fitted with moving piece 67. Shafts 36 and 37 are provided with the 1st and 2nd spring clutches 47 and 58 of prescribed structure. With the copy button pushed, solenoids 55 and 64 are excited and pawl members 51 and 62 come off, so that wheel 44 will rotated at a higher speed than an exposure speed through wheel 41, clutch 58, and gears 57, 56 and 45. Next, an exposure start signal turns off solenoid 64 and wheel 44 runs at the exposure speed via wheel 40 and clutch 47. An exposure end signal turns on solenoid 64 again and a setting table returns to its stop position at a high speed. Thus, the time of copying can be shortened.
