Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a high heat exchanging property and provide a light-weight compact heat exchanger by providing bent portions at fluid passage opening portions of each heat conducting plate.
CONSTITUTION: Bent portions 3 or 5 are provided at rectangular or circular opening portions 2, 4 of a heat conducting plate 1 provided with passages 2 for heating fluid and passages 4 for heated fluid. The bent portions 3, 5 are mass-produced by providing the plate 1 with cuts of predetermined length and working the cut portions by a uniform force applied along the cut surface. Such heat conducting plates 1 and separators consisting of poor conductor of heat are laminated alternately to prepare a laminated heat exchanger. Accordingly, the duration of contact time between the heat conducting plates 1 and the fluids can be kept longer and favorable heat conducting characteristics can be maintained. Further, the bent portions 3, 5 facilitate the fixing of component parts and also manufacture of the heat exchanger.
