Abstract

PURPOSE:To omit a weight position detector and obtain a weight screening signal by detecting the maximum output value of an electronic balance. CONSTITUTION:An article to be weighed and screened is transferred onto the weighing tray of an electronic balance 22 by a transfer means 21, and the weight or mass on the weighing balance is continuously measured by the electronic balance 22. The maximum value of change in the weighing value of the electronic balance 22 is detected with a maximum value detecting means 23. Thus detected maximum value is the weight value of the article and is stored in a memory means 24. The magnitude of the maximum value thus stored and the preset reference value is compared with a comparator 25 and is outputted as a screening signal 26.
