Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a molded foamed body free from coloring contamination, by compounding a high-melting polymer such as a polyester, polycarbonate, polyamide, ABS or PP, with basic zinc carbonate as a foaming agent, and molding the resulting compound at a temperature ≥230°C.
CONSTITUTION: A composition obtained by compounding 100pts.wt. high-melting polymer with 1W10wt. basic zinc carbonate consisting of a mixture of zinc carbonate and zinc corbonate and zinc hydroxide, and adding an usual additive such as a lubricant or a stabilizer, to the resulting compound, is molded at a temperature ≥230°C by means of extrusion, injection, etc. As illustrated, the composition begins to gradually decompose at about 190°C and effectively decomposes as a foaming agent at a temperature ≥230°C. Therefore, foaming is caused simultaneously with said molding to obtain the foam molded product.
