Abstract

PURPOSE: To avoid the breakdown of an output transistor, by increasing the sucking current which performs a discharge of an output short-circuit capacitor using a transistor of Darlington constitution as the detection output of a safe working region (ASO).
CONSTITUTION: The ASO detection signal obtained from the transistor Q17 forms the sucking current which discharges the capacitor C1 by the Darlington-connected transistors Q20 and Q21. A Schmitt trigger circuit consists of the transistors Q22 and Q23, the emitter resistance R16 plus the collector resistances R17 and R18. When the capacitor C1 is discharged with the ASO detection signal in the Schmitt trigger circuit, the discharge is carried out by a large sucking current produced by the transistors Q20 and Q21. Thus a high-speed discharge is possible by increasing the capacity of the capacitor C1. As a result, the breaking strength can be increased for an output transistor.
