Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the captioned structure which is constituted by the collective body of the foamed filaments formed of foams of a specific shape and having little quantity of a foaming agent sealed therein and is excellent in heat insulation and cushioning and easy for application.
CONSTITUTION: A collective structure of foamed filaments which are formed of independent foams whose length in the direction of the length of the filament is in the ratio of 1.05 or more, preferably 1.05W1.5 to the length of the foam in the direction of the cross section of the filament, wherein filament-form material having the cross-sectional diameter of 0.1W4mm, preferably 0.1W1mm and the density of 0.004W0.4g/cc. preferably 0.006W0.02g/cc and containing the foaming agent (e.g. dichlorotetrafluoroethane) of less than 4wt%, preferably 0.1W2wt% is collected in plenty and irregularly in the volume ratio of 0.5 or more to the entire volume of the structure, and wherein the material is joined and unified in the state that the juncture of the filaments to each other is subjected to the strain to form a plate, in a cushioning structure prepared by using polymeric foamed filaments.
