Abstract

PURPOSE: To make possible to visualize faint signals effectively and appropriately by modulating brightness in inverse proportion to the level of received signals.

An arranging circuit 3 arranges the waveform of a received signal, produces a positive or negative DC voltage proportional to the magnitude of the signal, and when modulating the brightness of the Braun tube 2 with this voltage, changes the brightness in inverse proportion to the voltage level, i.e., inversely as the magnitude of the received signal and thus modulates the brightness of the CRT2 so that it becomes brighter when the received signal is weaker.
