Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent disconnection of a signal outgoing line and thus to stabilize a temperature control of a catalyst pipe provided on an automobile exhaust pipe for a long period of time by using a nongrounded thermocouple and arranging a reinforced outgoing line instead of earth signal line.
CONSTITUTION: A deposited thermal zone 2 of a thermocouple 1 is insulated from a protective pipe 3 with magnesia 4. A reinforced outgoing line 17 which is kept stronger than a signal outgoing line 5 from having a reinforcing metal wire 9 tightened with a rubber covering 7 is mounted on an upper end of the protective pipe 3 and enclosed in a metal tube sleeve 11 together with the signal outgoing line 5. The reinforced outgoing line 17 is therefore powerful enough to prevent the signal outgoing line 5 from being broken by an external force, and thus a temperature control on a catalyst pipe provided on an automobile exhaust pipe can be ensured for a long period of time.
