Abstract

PURPOSE:To achieve the high current density electron emission under low temperature stably for long term, by pressure molding the mixture of specific amount of metal powder having high melting point, the powder of simple substance or compound of reductive element such as Al, Mg and the powder of alkali earth compound. CONSTITUTION:The mixture of metal powder having high melting point such as Ni of 71-81wt%, the powder of more than one of simple subsistence or compound of reductive element such as Al, W, Si, Mg, Co, Ti, Zr, and the powder of alkali earth metal such as carbonate is pressure molded independently or together with metal having high melting point such as Ni to form the emitter section. Consequently high current density electron emission of 1-1.5A/cm<2>, for example, can be achieved stably for long term with relatively low cathode temperature and it can be mass produced.
