Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve removing capacity of suspended particles smaller than micron order by bundling multiple pieces of hollow yarn, bonding and fixing at least one end thereof, and dividing and disposing multiple pieces of the hollow yarn to plural layers at the bonded and fixed end.
CONSTITUTION: Pieces of hollow yarn are divided and disposed to plural layers 3, whereby hollow yarn bundles 2 are formed. It is equally well to provide spaces 4 corresponding to the clearance between the hollow yarn layers to the bonded and fixed end part 1. The length at which the hollow yarn is bonded and fixed in the spaces corresponding to the clearances is generally 10W200mm, and suitably 20W 50mm. Cellulose yarn, polyvinyl alcohol yarn, acrylonitrile yarn, are used for the used yarn. The resultant hollow yarn element is effectively usable for filtration, refining, concentrating, etc. of liquids of relatively many suspended particle components, for example, various kinds of fermented liquids such as soy, liquor, and their dregs, dispersions of inorg. or org. pigments, etc.
