Abstract

PURPOSE:To make possible the detection of toner concentration in the developer with a simple constitution by rotatably providing a defining plate in the state of being spring-deviated against developer feeding force. CONSTITUTION:A defining plate 35 is provided rotatably in the feed direction according to pressure by the developer 4 under feeding and a switch operating piece 51 is provided to this defining plate 35. The switch operating piece 51 is held energized in the direction opposite from the developer feed direction by a spring 52. A switch 53 which corresponds to the switch operating piece 51 is disposed in the position where it goes ON when the operating piece 51 turns by the specified mount. Now, when the toner amount in the developer 4 decreases, its viscosity decreases as well, resulting in the increased pressure of the developer 4. As a result of this, the defining plate 35 is rotated in the feed direction against the spring 52, by which the switch 53 is turned ON to operate a toner replenishment control unit. In this way, the toner concentration in the developer may be detected with the simple constitution.
