Abstract

PURPOSE: To detect the position of a moving member by disposing a tape of a piezo- electric member having electrodes discontinuously disposed or a linear member thereof at the moving position of moving member and detecting the sound wave generated by the moving member by this piezo-electric member.
CONSTITUTION: Electrodes 7 are disposed at both sides of a piezo-electric member 6. The electrodes at one side are discontinuously placed in order to detect the position and respectively connected to lead wires 4. The detecting lines formed in this manner are placed throughout the positions where the moving member moves and in accordance with the sound wave generated by a sound wave transmitter of the moving member, voltage is generated at an electrode position where the sound wave collides with the piezo electric member 6 of the detecting line. This signal is fed to a signal detecting circuit through the lead wires 4 to detect the position of the moving member.
