Abstract

PURPOSE:To let the connection part withstand crushing force and bending force by covering the outside circumference of the connection part with a protecting cylinder which has crushing strength and rigidity and has flexibility and disposing optical fiber cores in its inside spacing. CONSTITUTION:A tension member 11 and tension member sleeve 12 are inserted into the center of a cylindrical excess-length-containing spacer 14. The outside circumference thereof is covered coaxially with a flexible protecting cylinder 22. The spacer 14 is formed as a core-wire-connector-containing guide 16 having a core-wire-connector-containing groove 19 on the outside circumference, a core wire guide 15 having a core-wire-containing groove 18 on the outside circumference and a cylindrical body 17 are combined. The flexible protecting cylinder 22 consists of cylinders 23, 24 which are cut with external and internal screws respectively on both ends and is made to the construction permitting bending with relievings 25, 26. A core wire connector 29 is contained in the core-wire-connector-containing groove 19 and a core wire 13 in the core-wire-containing groove 18 and cavity 21.
