Abstract
PURPOSE: To facilitate an easy application for the result of flaw detection by providing the ultrasonic probe which gives the scanning to the tested material like the tube or the like in its longer direction plus the recorder using the recording sheet onto which the several loci of flaw detection which are parallel to the circumferential direction of the tube or the like are printed previously.
CONSTITUTION: One end of roll 1 (tested material) is supported by support mechanism 3, and roll 1 is turned toward arrow (a) by the fixed angle. Probe 5 shifts toward arrow (b) and (c) each by the function of driving mechanism 7. The loci of flaw detection are printed previously on the surface of recording sheet 23, and probe 5 advances toward arrow (b) with locus L1 and then locus L2 going toward arrow (c) after returning at the right end of the sheet. After this, the reciprocal motion is given in accordance with the scanning of probe 5, and at the same time mark 30 indicating the existence of the defect is given on the locus. Then with one turn of roll 1, the flaw detection is caused over the full length of the roll, and the result of flaw detection is recorded on the recording sheet featuring the 1:1 relation to the locus of flaw detection.
