Abstract

PURPOSE: To miniaturize and improve the heat radiating effect of an oil immersed transformer by a method wherein the oil tank is made of a non-magnetic material, and is furnished with fins on the inside and outside walls of the tank.
CONSTITUTION: An oil tank 1 is made of Al alloy, and as there is no influence by leakage flux, the distance between the tank wall and the core is shortened to reduce the oil quantity. Many heat absorbing fins 2 are furnished lengthwise inside of the tank to improve the convection of the insulating oil 7. Heat of the insulating oil is effectively exchanged by the fins 2, transmitted to the outside radiation fins 3 via the tank 1, and is radiated. The ascended oil over the top of a transformer 8 flows along the heat absorbing fins 5 in all directions, and circulates satisfactorily in the tank. The supplementary insulating oil is poured into the tank through a hole 4 prepared at the center of an inside cover 6.
