Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide a thermosetting resin composition with excellent low flammability, low smoking property, reduced harm to human body or the like in case of burning and decomposition and excellent workability by including aluminum hydroxide, red phosphorus antimony trioxide to unstaturated polyester resin.
CONSTITUTION: To 100pts.wt. of a base resin comprising unsaturated polyester resin, 50W110pts.wt. of aluminum hydroxide, 3W30pts.wt. of red phosphrous and 3W7pts.wt. of antimony trioxide are added. If an amount of added aluminum hydroxide is below 50pts.wt., the enhancement of fire-retardant effect is not attained and even if more than 90pts.wt. is used, more effective fire-retardant poperty is not attained and, on the other hand, molding workability is lowered because the viscosity of the resin composition is increased. If an amount of added phosphorus is below 3pts.wt., the enhancing effect of fire-retardant property is not obtained and if more than 30pts.wt., glowing length in a burning test becomes longer as well as the cost becomes high.
