Abstract

NEW MATERIAL:A peptide consisting of 13 amino acids: L-tryptophan, D-histidine, L-tryptophan, L-leucine, L-glutamine, L-leucine, L-lysine, L-proline, L- glycine, L-glutamine, L-proline, L-methionine, and L-tyrosine, in the order mentioned.
USE: Peptides having the actions antagonistic to the physiological action of peptide capable of readily distinguishing the a-type cells having the sexual genes of yeast from α-type cells [disclosed in the Japanese Application No.53-72430 (1978) by the same applicant], and the action to prevent the sexual transformation of a or α-type cells during storage.
PROCESS: The peptide is obtained from Boc-Trp-Leu-Gln-Lys(Zoc)-Pro-Gly- Gln-Pro-Met-Tyr(2,6-Cl2-Bzl)-OBzl, by the well-known method.
